Upon review of this assignment, my first thought was to conduct my rhetorical artifact analysis on one of my favorite speakers, John F. According to Adichie, one of the main problems of the single story is that it robs people of their dignity.

What is important is to address that these generalizations do exist for a reason- after all, it is the duty of an author to capture bits and pieces of a culture, and so truth seeps through the generalized framework.

I think that literature has a profound impact on our genetic make-ups: One has to minimize bias and view all perspectives of the different kinds of culture and people in the world. I know of a village near to Jodhpur in Rajasthan where new born girls were killed used barbaric techniques, but now the practice have stopped and the reason is that people from other village have stopped giving their daughters as brides to this village bridegrooms.

There are many stories to be told about any place. She uses her own experience and failure in stereotyping others to further connect with the audience. I appreciate that thought that reading more literature on specific aspects that can help in widening our perception and understanding.

Then, I thought about it later and decided that I would prefer to conduct my analysis on a speech that is more recent and one which I, being from the islands, could also identify with. She addresses the western culture as what she thought was most familiar and intimate, whereas her own culture was completely the opposite because she was privileged as a child to be brought up with education of the west, instead of working hours and hours a day, helping the family survive.Im a storyteller.
